As we head into the weekend, let's do a little feelings check-in. How are you feeling today? And remember, if you can't find the right word for it, that is completely and perfectly okay.
Other times, for all people, our feelings are like a beautifully complex painting where the colours have all run together, we might be experiencing several emotions at once and it's hard to see where one ends and another begins.
For many of us, especially those of us who are neurodivergent or have ASD, emotions aren't always a neat list of names we can pick from. Sometimes, we don't "name" our feelings at all; we feel them on a somatic level, as a physical sensation in our bodies. It might be a flutter in your chest, a heaviness in your limbs, or a buzz of energy you can't quite explain.
However you experience your feelings today, whether you can name them instantly, feel them as a sensation, or are sitting with a beautiful, complicated mix, they are real and they are welcome here. Be gentle with yourself.
