On 24 March 2026, Ribumed Day Hospital in Ballito, proudly joined the global observance of World TB Day by reaching out directly to our community at the Odyssey Mall.

Through educational talks, on‑site TB screening, and a practical cough etiquette demonstration, we helped raise awareness and share the right message about tuberculosis. Engaging with people where they are was vital in breaking down stigma, encouraging early detection, and promoting healthier practices for all.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO). TB is preventable and curable. Global efforts have saved an estimated 83 million lives since the year 2000. By focusing on prevention, early diagnosis, and effective treatment, communities can continue to reduce TB’s impact.

Common symptoms of TB include:

✅Chest pain
✅Weakness and fatigue
✅Weight loss
✅Fever
✅Night sweats

Despite the rainy Friday weather, Ribumed Day Hospital in Glenwood joined the Durb's Granny Grommets at the Marine Surf Lifesaving Club to celebrate their commitment to healthy living. The Durb’s Granny Grommets, is a female only social club offering free bodyboarding lessons for women over 50, who meet every Friday to stay active and connected. Ribumed offered free health checks and a hot cup of coffee to everyone who participated.

Hospital Manager, Phillipa Morris said: “This initiative is about rewarding our communities for making healthy choices. Their commitment to staying active and connected is inspiring, and we are proud to support them.”
