Emergency Services received reports of a serious MVC that had taken place on the R102 in the vicinity of the Glen anil robots.

Upon arrival the driver of the LDV was entrapped with injuries including a fractured leg.
The driver had to be cut free with the assistance of EThekwini Fire Department.
Helicopter medical services were on call to be deployed but the choice was taken to rapidly transport the pt. to a nearby medical facility under ILS supervision for the further medical treatment required.

Paramedics together with Netcare 911 under ALS supervision stabilised the injured male before expediting him to hospital by ambulance.

It was alleged that the Security Officer was exiting the store with cash boxes when unknown suspects opened fire on him.

They deprived the injured male of the cash boxes before they fled in a:
*White Ford Ranger double cab bakkie.
*White/silver Toyota Fortuner was also believed to be used by the suspects, but this could not be confirmed.

Several spent 9mm cartridges were located on scene.
