27 years ago. Seems such a lifetime away. I was actually 27 hours in labor from 1pm the previous day. This human changed my life and gave me a reason to live. He gave meaning to the word mom, and he is one of the most amazing humans I have met and one of the most beautiful humans I will ever meet. What a fantastic job you are doing with this thing called life. I’m always in awe at how gracefully you have caught life in your own truth and given it your best shot. I love you so much and my only wish for you is to be the best version of who you really are and who you want to be. Happy new cycle, Desh.

Submit your original, unpublished work for the Durban Book of Rhymes / Short Stories, a collaborative project by Kadalshi and Artscribes Global, under the theme Peace and Unity.

We are extending the theme from World Poetry Day 2025, inviting you to explore peace, unity, and shared humanity through your writing. The best submissions will be published in an anthology.
