October is breast cancer awareness month!

Regular mammograms are an essential part of preventive health care for women

From the age of 40 all women should have an annual screening mammogram.
Women with risk factors, such as a family history of breast cancer, may need to start screening earlier and have more frequent screenings. It’s important to discuss individual risk factors with a healthcare professional to determine the best screening plan for you.

Mammograms are important for early detection of breast cancer, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates.
They can identify tumours that are too small to be felt and detect changes in breast tissue that may indicate cancer.

Early detection through mammograms allows for earlier intervention, often leading to less aggressive treatments and better overall prognosis 🎀
