Blessed are we to enjoy beautiful mornings in Durban on the beach, and today was just one of those. December is also a time where things get out of hand- although our " "lists have come to an end, our trauma season escalates- and last night I performed surgery on a horrific accident victim whereby a young female was ejected from her vehicle after a collision, sustaining multiple facial, skull, and brain injuries- she does however look great this morning in ICU, however this will not be the case for so many. Remember to hold your loved ones when you say goodbye because unfortunately it could very well be the last time you see them, and make a habit of doing so. Mental illness is also one that spikes over this period, and remember to and to those that might not be so fortunate, as it might just be what they need to pull them through.I will actually have some time now to post some clinical pics/vids to keep you entertained during those family braais, when ur a little tired and wired from overdose of family love, and you slip away for a sneaky peak and possibly plan for the year ahead. and give way to that taxi as there might be someone on board about to give birth 😘

I can't believe 10 years has passed since my Senior Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the Prestigious Oxford University Hospital Trust in the UK, where I resided for 2 years, and was privileged to teach medical students, registrars writing their final plastic surgery exams as well as learn from the wealth of knowledge in the many mentors and surgeons i had the opportunity to work with. My trusted steed, my bicycle served me many hundreds of miles around Oxford, in snow, sleet, rain and ice, often so cold my eyes would water up and its a miracle i managed to navigate through traffic, balance grocery bags on the handles, as well as find the various colleges i was scheduled to be at, without ending up in my own emergency department . I operated at the John Radcliffe, Nuffield, and Churchill hospitals, as well as travelling though to London to spend time with various plastic surgeons at the top of their field at the MYA clinic on Harley street.My most truly Oxford experience in terms of surgery was operating on a patient that was "head butted by a horse" Oxford is truly a magical, special place, and one should really tick it on your bucket list of places to visit, and should you be fortunate enough to possess a double barrel surname[thanks Mom and Dad!!], be little unashamedly posh and geeky, and possibly hints of some snobbish tendencies that you just can't seem to shake off despite your cheap bicycle that thankfully never gets stolen ...you will most certainly fit right in 😊❤️

My last 4 weeks…4 facelifts/ 4 x 12 hour microvascular cancer reconstructions , rhinoplasty’s, breasts bigger and smaller and symmetrised, liposuctions , tummy tucks , eyelid tucks,
Skin cancers and trauma reconstructions lots of Botox and lip fillers as well.… HOWEVER I POSSIBLY HAVE HAD THE MOST FOCUS CUTTING MY BOYS HAIR THE DAY BEFORE HIS BIRTHDAY PARTY. (Could’ve been more pressure… say it was eg my daughter before her wedding day 💇‍♀️)… don’t worry son.. I’ve been cutting hair since 1994… way even before med school was on the cards.

It’s been a ROUGH year and we all need to let loose this year end…
just PLEASE look after my b***s ladies …(remember no bouncy-bouncy for 3 months post surgery and keep that post surgical bra on!)
They are my pride and joy, and an obsession at creating perfection!
(Forget the hair..hang tight onto those puppies and keep em safe from danger!!!)

I’ve learnt to always give thanks to (in order of importance)😝 for the amazing weather and waves in today , and having the opportunity to both morning and afternoon …thanks for letting me bolt to the beach!!

Sometimes, we just become so self conscious about a certain feature on our faces, be it from a comment someone once said to you as a child, or media influence, to the point is has made you unable to function normally, and you become averse to human contact, hoping for lockdown level 5 million. My job is to have a discussion with you, and we can decide using mostly common sense, whether your proportions may be surgically improved. This lip reduction is one of the most common day procedure i perform, and the amazing results speak for themselves. There is minimal downtime, and unfortunately it is not that painful, ie weight loss from not eating due to the pain can't be expected :)))

I simply LOVE upper lip lifts, i often perform them in conjunction with my facelifts, however often as a solo procedure. Its a very quick day surgical procedure performed under sedation, resulting in a youthful transformation. WOOOOOW

My dad was just telling me before this moment on how all energy returns to the source, and what you put out into the universe, will return to you.
Durban has a wealth of cultural and spiritual energy of all backgrounds, and I am proud to call this My City

Doc, yeah yeah, i know the new implants are safe, but, I'm not that keen to have plastic or silicone, or whatever you call it in my b***s. Im vegan, i love my kale smoothies, i don't harm a fly, and i even make sure my organic is REALLY organic.Please fix this sad state of affairs that's going on under here, coz, before i know it, these to[once hot puppies] will be dragging along the floor!!

Although I perform facelifts often every fortnight, and "seasonally" weekly, this patients journey was very special to me, and her "new beginning" which significantly is very appropriate during this religious and spiritual time of year. She had spent a lifetime on failed treatments, and, although our journey began years ago, when she had seen the longevity and natural beauty of her friends results that i had operated on, and the ease of the surgical and recovery process, her transformation is heartwarming, and her smile post surgery truly touched my soul. She has graciously allowed me to post her pics uncensored as well. I am naturally drawn to the most challenging of surgical procedures, and it is a blessing that my patients choose me, and I have been given the opportunity to positively impact their lives

This is probably the worst case of "bags under the eyes" that anyone will ever encounter. The cause is largely unknown, but probably has a familial predisposition.
Most people do develop bags[fatty pockets] with age. Instead of cutting the bags out- i prefer to redistribute the fat into the upper cheek to prevent a hollowed out gaunt overall appearance

A patient of mine that captains a fishing vessel, blessed my staff and i with beautiful Tuna and Swordfish caught 300 km off the coast this morning.
I reconstructed his arm after it was mangled in a machine , needless to say, he is back in good form..
I cooked it this evening ..and being a failed chef.. the tough crowd at home enjoyed !
