Does your pain get worse when standing or walking?

This can sometimes be caused by spinal stenosis, where the space around nerves becomes narrower.

Many patients feel relief when sitting or bending forward.

A proper assessment helps identify the cause.

Physiotherapy helps many people with back pain.

But sometimes the pain keeps returning.

This can happen when the underlying cause is a compressed nerve in the spine, rather than muscle tension.

In those cases, the nerve itself may need treatment.

At our clinic we focus on diagnosing the true cause of pain first.

Pain that travels down the leg is often a sign of nerve irritation in the spine.

The nerves in the lower back extend all the way into the legs.

When one of these nerves becomes compressed, pain can travel along the nerve pathway.

This is why people feel pain in the buttock, thigh, calf, or foot.

At the Centre of Pain Relief we focus on identifying the specific nerve involved before treatment.

Does your back pain get worse when sitting?

This can happen because sitting increases pressure on the spinal discs, especially if a disc is bulging or pressing on a nerve.

Many patients notice pain when sitting but feel better when standing or walking.

Understanding why the pain happens is the first step to treating it properly.

At our clinic in Umhlanga Ridge, we focus on diagnosing the source of pain before recommending treatment.

If your back pain travels down your leg, it may not actually be back pain.

Pain that moves from the lower back into the buttock or down the leg is often nerve pain caused by compression in the spine.

Many people spend months treating muscles when the real issue is the nerve itself.

At the Centre of Pain Relief in Umhlanga Ridge, our specialists focus on identifying the exact source of pain before recommending treatment.

If you're struggling with chronic pain, a specialist consultation can help find the real cause.
