Psychology Practice in Durban North and Malvern, Queensburgh

I am a qualified Counselling Psychologist with training in two primary therapy modalities namely Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I hold a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Rhodes University and am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the Psychological Society of South Africa (PsySSA), the South African Association for Counselling and Development in Higher Education (SAACDHE) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). I regularly attend Continuous Professional Development workshops, seminars and conferences. I currently practice from the Malvern Medicross in Malvern, Queensburgh and the Docnor Medical Centre in Durban North. Prior to entering private practice I was employed at the Durban University of Technology’s Student Counselling Centre. I provided individual psychotherapy to students and addressed a range of concerns that influence academic performance and mental health.

I offer play therapy to children and individual psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults and adults for a wide range of difficulties. In addition to experience with individual therapy services, I also have experience in providing assessment services. These include;

  • Professional career counselling and assessments to assist with school subject choice, university course choice and career planning.

  • Assessment of cognitive functioning and, scholastic skills, to inform efforts to redress learning difficulties and poor academic performance. This includes school readiness assessments.
