Newlands City Funerals is profoundly honored to facilitate the Special Provincial Official Funeral for liberation stalwart, Mr. Sunny Gerja Singh. We extend our deepest gratitude for his lifelong, selfless service to our country.

Mr. Singh dedicated his life entirely to the struggle against apartheid. His journey of sacrifice began as a youth activist, leading him to be recruited into Umkhonto weSizwe (MK), where he participated in sabotage activities aimed at dismantling apartheid infrastructure.

His commitment led to his arrest in 1963 and a decade-long incarceration on Robben Island. Even while imprisoned, he played a crucial role in keeping his comrades informed and politically engaged. Following his release and a period in exile representing the ANC internationally, he returned in 1991 to contribute to the nation's democratic transition.

He never faltered in his conviction, representing a generation that placed the liberation of South Africa above personal sacrifice.
