Dr Shariefa Hendricks is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who has been in clinical practice since 2001. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology as well as PhD in psychology from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She consults with clients from her offices in Westville, Durban.

Shariefa has always had the desire for helping people to be their best selves and lead their best lives. She currently enjoys working with all ages, and consults children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of issues/problems that hinder their optimum functioning. Shariefa has extensive experience as a psychologist, having worked in the hospital context and in student support services. She has worked with both mild and severe pathology in children, adolescents and adults. She has extensive experience working with patients afflicted with medical conditions such as HIV/Aids, cancer, and chronic renal failure.

In her sessions, Shariefa assists clients to understand their life challenges and works closely and collaboratively with the client to achieve therapeutic goals and enhance the clients experience of the therapeutic space, through self-empowerment strategies. Within the context of trust and confidentiality, clients are given the opportunity to explore, reflect on and understand their personal experiences and challenges in a safe space. In working with her clients, she helps them to understand and piece together how their past emotional wounds, their relational difficulties and physical, psychological and emotional challenges, sabotage and obstruct them from living more meaningful lives in the present.
