The Lung Wellness Clinic offers a professional, efficient and cost-effective delivery of services to patients by providing assessment, monitoring, education and support for children and adults diagnosed with respiratory disease. The objective is to work together with each patient’s other healthcare providers by providing ongoing and regular patient follow-up to help these individuals manage their disease with fewer hospital admissions, visits to their physician and absences from school or work. This will be achieved by teaching each patient how to manage their respiratory disease so they can live more active, healthy lives and achieve improved overall health and quality of life.

Do you know what spirometry is?

According to the Mayo Clinic, "Spirometry is a common office test used to assess how well your lungs work by measuring how much air you inhale, how much you exhale and how quickly you exhale. Spirometry is used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other conditions that affect breathing.”

Do you know what Tuberculosis (TB) is?

According to the Mayo Clinic “Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious illness that mainly affects the lungs. Tuberculosis can spread when a person with the illness coughs, sneezes or sings. This can put tiny droplets with the germs into the air. Another person can then breathe in the droplets, and the germs enter the lungs.”

We have a program curated specifically for parents and families with asthmatic children.

Within this program, we will provide education that will assist in the day-to-day management and long-term care of asthmatic children.

When: 17h30 - 19h30 on the first Thursday of each month
Where: Online (Zoom)
Cost: R350 per person

At The Lung Wellness Clinic, we have a variety of programs available for people living with asthma.🫁🗣

Our asthma for adults program includes fully comprehensive, basic, and need-to-know asthma education with an overview of asthma, its causes, treatment options, triggers and trigger avoidance, self-management and action plans.
