Intelligence Driven Operation Leads to Arrests in Westville
Westville has recently experienced an increase in vehicle theft incidents. In response to this spike, Mobi-Claw911, together with South African Police Service Westville SAPS, implemented a focused, intelligence driven operational plan aimed at disrupting and preventing further criminal activity.
Vehicles were strategically deployed throughout the Westville area, acting as additional eyes and ears on the ground.
On Saturday, these proactive efforts paid off.
A vehicle previously linked to recent theft activity was identified by Mobi-Claw911 members. Observation was maintained and the vehicle was followed in coordination with Westville SAPS, who successfully stopped it.
Three occupants were detained.
During the stop, officers discovered:
• Vehicle breaking implements
• False registration plates
• Multiple vehicle keys believed to be linked to theft activity
One of the detained suspects is well known to authorities for involvement in vehicle theft and was previously arrested approximately two years ago following a high speed chase related to attempted vehicle theft.
This operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence led policing and strong collaboration between private security and law enforcement.
Mobi-Claw911 extends sincere appreciation to the Westville SAPS Crime Prevention Units for their commitment and coordinated efforts in keeping our community safer.
