Ooooof… 🎤 drop.

This might strike a nerve for some but ponder on it for a second. Some drugs are absolutely necessary and useful but we cannot sit back and deny that so many medications are prescribed to cover up a problem. Most drugs allow us to continue living the same lifestyle that is causing a lot of our problems in the first place.

For example, the runner popping multiple cataflams to help them get through continual training blocks in prep for that marathon, when instead their body is trying to communicate something to them?!
Or the person getting daily headaches due to high sugar intake, poor eating habits and excessive stress but dispirins are getting them by?! Way easier than changing the lifestyle right?!

If you’re living on pain/chronic medication 💊 - try ascertain why. What is the root cause? What does your lifestyle look like?! Could you make small changes to help? Should you seek some holistic guidance and direction?

We cannot cover up symptoms forever, because soon our bodies won’t be able to cope anymore.

Holiday mode complete ✌🏼☕️☀️

Welcome to 2024.

My practice reopens tomorrow and I’m excited to see you all in practice again soon!

Just a reminder that you don’t have to be in “pain” to see a chiropractor. The reality is, if you have a spine and a nervous system, which we all do, then you can benefit hugely from seeing a chiropractor, especially with the large amounts of stress that is placed on our nervous systems these days.

As chiropractors, we believe in achieving a healthy spine and nervous system: we influence the system that runs ALL the other systems of your body.

By delivering a chiropractic adjustment, we remove subluxations (these rob the body’s ability to focus, think, organize and heal) and we help to restore motion into areas of the spine, which changes the signaling to the brain, positively.

Give it a try and ✌🏼

Ever got sick when you’ve been under a lot of increased stress? Or tie your shoelace and your back went into spasm? Woke up with a super sore neck for no reason… “but I always sleep like that?!”

If you’d like to read why this can happen, I am going to leave you with the link below - my blog which includes an article written by Beckenham & Sevenoaks Chiropractic Clinics because they just sum up “Stress, Lifestyle and the Nervous System” brilliantly.

But if you wish to stop reading here, and “don’t have time” then I’ll leave you with this: Identify and manage your stresses in life so you can awaken your body to function well and heal itself adequately.

As tough as it may be during this time of the year in particular, try the following:

1. Get enough quality sleep.
2. Eat regular, nutrient-dense meals. Don’t miss meals or snack of the go.
3. Keep exercising, even if it’s 20 minutes.
4. Do not sit for extended hours behind your computer at night.
5. De-stress psychologically, however that looks for you.
6. Stay hydrated.
7. Take time out for yourself.
8. Prioritize quality time with friends and family.
9. Spend less time scrolling on your phone.
10. Get adjusted to maintain your nervous system.

And a bonus point: Focus on your BLESSINGS and wake up with a grateful heart every morning. Gratitude is such a game changer 💛

For those that are new here…

Hiiiiiiiii 👋🏼

This is me and my family that I cherish so so much 💛

Thank you for dropping onto my page. I’m not as active on here as I use to be, because navigating work and mom life is a juggle. I use to think it was busy, but clearly I wasn’t 😂

I’m a CrossFitting, coffee-loving chiropractor with a passive for positive relationships, massive love for all exercise and movement, and a deep desire to educate people on the importance of overall health and wellness. I am rooted in holistic health and also have a postgraduate certification in pregnancy and post-partum corrective exercise 🤩

I hope we cross paths in person soon! But until then, welcome and continue to move your body and prioritise your overall well-being 💛

Big love,
Doc Lol x

Whether it’s running or other forms of exercise, there seem to be so many things that hold us back unnecessarily or hinder us from better performance, or that really shouldn’t even be a thing.

Here are some exercise trends that really need to be buried and not be allowed to hold us back from getting out there! And they can be applied to almost any form of exercise.

1. Strava upload anxiety or any workout platform 😦 Why is this even a thing? Everyone feels their training is being monitored on these platforms. Well who really cares.

2. Nerves around entering a race or a competition, or even a group challenge because of the fear of failure, or not improving, or what others may think or expect.

3. Feeling like you’re not good enough to run with others, or join a fitness class, or try a new sport.

4. Feeling like you have to get to a certain “fitness level” first by yourself, before you can join a group.

5. Overtraining and underfueling.

6. Comparing yourself to others.

7. Thinking every run or training session needs to be at 100%.

8. Thinking you don’t need strength training to help with your cardio-based exercise, or that you don’t need some level of cardio to help with your strength training.

9. Thinking that pretty outfits and shoes are a must have to look stylish, perform better, and fit in with the fitness crowd.

10. Not celebrating the small wins.

11. Doing something, just for the gram. Even when it’s dumb.

Anything else you’d like to add? ☝🏼😜 Do you struggle with any of these? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Don’t let them hold you back!

Never underestimate the ability of a group of people or even one person to support and encourage you towards health. Find people who want to get healthy or who have achieved what you want to achieve.

Tag a friend (or your tribe) that inspire you to be better and keep you striving towards a healthier, stronger and happier version of yourself.

Happy Friday ☀️💁🏼‍♀️

Kicking off July with this || Monthly Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Lauren is truly incredible! I was treated by her yesterday and I can not recommend her highly enough! She is not only thorough, she is compassionate, kind and enormously knowledgeable. What I loved and appreciated the most, was how much time she took in getting my full medical background first to ensure that she was treating me holistically. She took her time, explained everything and advised me accordingly. I’m happy to say I have found my new Chiro!! Thank you Lauren! I also love the fact that she is an active, fit person and understands the needs of someone like minded!”

😭😭😭
Thank you to everyone that has left me a google review. Truly, they really do mean the world to me.

How long do you sit every day??

Working out for 30min-60min per day does not offset being sedentary for the whole day at work. Moving well and moving often during the work hours needs to be a priority! Moving is not only for the gym.

Try these daily tips where you can:
1️⃣ Sit in a deep squat position for at least 30 seconds a few times a day.
2️⃣ If you work at a desk, alternate by standing or kneeling or squatting for a few minutes within an hour.
3️⃣ Set an alarm or make a mental note to simple push away from your computer and move every 45-60min.
4️⃣ Do not eat your lunch or snacks at your computer/desk. Get up, change position and location, or get some fresh air.
5️⃣ Prioritise more walking/stretching in the day. Take a break and get in 2 x 5-10min walks around the house, garden or office; or a few minutes of stretching. See how this has a positive impact on your body and work performance.

Hope this helps ☺️💪🏼

I’ve been quiet on here as I prep for our little girl to arrive 💖🥹 but I have utilised my maternity leave wisely and voilà 🤩

Ah man, I am so stoked to complete this course and be qualified in this field!

This course has taught me so so much especially being pregnant myself and I can now use myself as a Guinea pig which is awesome ☺️🙏🏼

There was so much information which I need to refine into practice practice practice but it’s been GREAT and I hope I can use this to help many women in the near future ☺️ Knowledge is so important!

Happy Friday everyone and hope you’re all doing well! 💖

All my love,
