Maria Elliot Physiotherapy aims to provide one-on-one personal care with great focuses on hands-on treatment and rehabilitation. Contracted to All Medical Aids.

Maria Elliot stems from Finland originally where she gained her 4 year BSc Physiotherapy Degree. After graduating in 2002 she moved to England to live and gain experience in her profession. She worked as a physiotherapist mainly for NHS based intuitions where she gained broad exposure in her chosen field and completed numerous courses. With a strong interest in the management of pain, Maria undertook a Master’s Degree in Pain Management through the prestigious King’s College of London which she completed in 2007. The following year she moved to South Africa where she worked as a Chief Physiotherapist at Grey’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg and several other Durban based private practices before opening her own. Maria makes use of a multitude of techniques including spinal and soft tissue mobilization, massage, taping, exercise programs, electrotherapy (eg. ultrasound) and in some cases acupuncture/dry needling in order to relieve patients of pain and allow them to resume with normal activities as quickly as possible.

Maria Elliot Physiotherapy was started in 2013 by (drumroll) Maria Elliot!

Maria is a highly qualified physiotherapist based in the Durban North area, with over two decades of experience both in South Africa and abroad. Her journey began in Finland, then took her to England, where she honed her skills and developed a keen interest in pain management, culminating in a Master's Degree from King's College University in London in 2007!

Fast forward 17 years, and Maria Elliot Physiotherapy has been proudly serving the community for 11 years. Maria remains dedicated to pain management and passionate about helping those in need.

On this Heritage Day, we celebrate our diverse roots and the unique journey that brings us together. Here's to embracing our rich heritage and the stories that shape us.
