Most medical aid members are sitting on benefits they've never once claimed.

Preventative screenings that never touch your savings, chronic medication cover with likely no annual rand limit, and a yearly window to switch to a better plan option. And all of this is available to you right now.

How many of these are you using? Find out what you're missing out on: https://nuel.ink/bCsjA0

Most people only discover their medical aid gaps when they're already in a hospital bed.

Co-payments, network rules, benefit limits, and specialist shortfalls are probably shaping your real annual cost more than your premium does.

A lower medical aid premium today could cost you significantly more by December.

Your monthly contribution is only part of the picture. Co-payments, specialist shortfalls, network rules, and benefit limits likely shape your real annual cost more than your premium does.

Falling pregnant without the right medical aid in place may turn one of life's best moments into a financial nightmare.

Joining or switching schemes while already pregnant likely means a 12-month waiting period on pregnancy and birth claims.

The best time to review your maternity cover is before you conceive.

Most people don't realise their chronic medication comes from a completely separate medical scheme benefit.

If you're taking daily medication, your scheme is likely covering it outside your savings account, with no annual rand limit attached.

Are you registered for the right benefit to access this fully?

If you're unsure whether your chronic medication is properly covered, we're here to help you find out. Start here: https://nuel.ink/2CF3ao

Choosing the wrong hospital could cost you thousands, even with a medical aid.

Medical schemes contract specific hospitals and providers to keep costs manageable for members. Using a provider outside that network may result in penalty co-payments.

Do you know which hospitals are on your network? Understanding your Designated Service Providers (DSP) is probably one of the simplest ways to protect your benefits.

Did you know that your medical aid paying 100% doesn't mean your specialist bill is fully covered?

Specialists set their own rates. Your scheme pays theirs. That gap is likely yours to cover, upfront, out of pocket.

Gap cover could protect you from shortfalls on procedures like MRI scans, back operations, endoscopies, and cancer treatment. So, is your current cover actually covering you?

Imagine needing emergency treatment and only then realising your "medical aid" is actually a health insurance policy with very different rules.

Medical aid schemes are governed by the Medical Schemes Act and must cover Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMBs) by law.

Health insurance, governed by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), products aren't bound by the same requirements and may cover less than you expect.

Are you confident you know which product you're paying for?
We'll help you figure that out. Start here: https://nuel.ink/jdiDTm

Did you know if chronic benefits aren’t registered or linked to an authorisation, your repeat meds are likely being paid for from your Medical Savings Account (MSA)?

This means you could be depleting your MSA unnecessarily.

Booked a procedure without checking with your medical aid first? You might be in for an expensive surprise.

Emergency and planned hospital visits don’t work the same way when it comes to cover. In an emergency, treatment comes first and the costs are dealt with later. For planned procedures, the admin usually comes first.

The authorisation process checks whether your hospital, doctor, and procedure match your medical aid option’s rules. Misalignment here means you’re in for out-of-pocket bills.

Before you book a procedure, check what applies to your plan. Ask MedXpert for guidance here: https://nuel.ink/FetJSD
