Neurodiversity Centre

Neurodiversity Centre A multi-disciplinary service for neurodivergent children and adults. We accept and value this variance along with each individual’s unique way of being.

The term ‘Neurodiversity’ points to the recognition of the fact that there is a naturally occurring diversity among different individuals in terms of how our brains function. At the same time, we are acutely aware of the considerable challenges people may face in our society as a result of these natural, neurological differences. As part of our services we offer training to all role-players involved including parents, teachers and facilitators. We also offer a variety of support groups catering to all the aspects of the complex diagnosis and interventions of the Autism Spectrum. Please refer to our website and FB page to keep updated!

You’re allowed to say no - for yourself and
for your neurodivergent child.

“No, we won’t be staying the whole time.”
“No, they need a break.”
“No, we’re choosing a low-demand holiday.”

Boundaries are support.

When your brain struggles to anticipate what’s coming next, every unexpected change feels like a small earthquake.

That’s called predictive processing difference — and it’s a core feature of many autistic and ADHD experiences.

You’re not “too sensitive to change.” You just experience uncertainty more deeply.

Some learners can’t automatically tell when “the rule has changed.”

That’s context blindness — the world may feel unpredictable.

🗝️ Tip for teachers: Say things out loud, clearly and consistently.
“Usually we’re quiet, but now it’s your turn to shout your ideas!”

Neurotypical kids are like spekbooms — they thrive almost anywhere.

Neurodivergent kids are like orchids — they need the right light, water, and care to bloom.

Our job is to nurture, not change, the child in front of us.
