🌊 We’re thrilled to be part of this heart-led gathering in support of protecting our beautiful coastline — come celebrate, connect and contribute to a powerful cause! Feel the rhythm with us at 4PM as we gather in circle for an energising djembe experience — (we’ll have drums available to use). 🥁🌿 - See more deets about this awesome event below 👇🏾:

Creation Commune is delighted to invite you to another gathering under the trees. A space to feel the earth under your feet, your body moving to the beat, riding sound waves as we connect and co-create.

These are the waves of change our world needs. Communities coming together to create joyful experiences in service of something greater.

Together we create a sea of frequency, waves of resonance and heart coherence, rising and flowing, rippling outward in every direction.

Proceeds from this event will go to WESSA and their Chintsa Green Coast initiative which serves to protect our beautiful coastline, and all of its creatures and communities.

There’ll be something to satisfy all of your senses, from delicious food and beautiful creations at the market to groovy tunes, and friendly smiles on the dance floor.

Let’s ride the waves of change, as a community who come together for the coast we care about. Creating good vibes, for a great cause!

🪘 The Djembe: A Drum That Gathers

The djembe is more than an instrument—it’s a cultural heartbeat. Originating in West Africa, particularly among the Mandinka people of Mali, it’s traditionally carved from a single piece of wood and topped with animal hide.

Its name comes from the Bambara phrase “Anke djé, anke bé”—“everyone gather together in peace”—a beautiful reflection of its communal spirit. For centuries, the djembe has been played in weddings, harvest festivals, and rites of passage, calling people into celebration, unity, and ancestral remembrance.

We’re deeply grateful for the connections this drum has helped us create—gathering in rhythm with strangers who become friends. The djembe reminds us that sound is a bridge, and gathering is a gift. 🙏🏾

There are many names for the practice of sound meditation:

Each name carries its own resonance, and each practitioner's approach offers a unique pathway inward. From tuning forks to gongs, drums, bowls to monochords and many more...the instruments and techniques vary—but the invitation remains the same.

To arrive.
To soften.
To listen.

Sound meditation isn’t about silencing your thoughts—it’s about meeting yourself with compassion, curiosity, and presence. It’s a moment to tune into the subtle language of sensation and emotion. To honour what’s alive in you, right now.

We shared the love of the drum and the unity it brings, with over 200 grade 5's this morning. ❤️

It was a particularly special few hours for me, because it was at my old school's 🤗 amazing new sports facility. How epic is their mural, too 😍. Thank you, for leading & inspiring our youth through music. 🪘🇿🇦🙌🏾

Wow...watching the lunar eclipse tonight...it is so beautiful! It really does look like a 'blood moon' 🔴 (even though my phone camera doesn't do it justice).

If you see it and feel the shift too...I hope it moves you to release what no longer serves you & align with your true path. ✴️

Drum circle vibes at Love & Light sound space 🌕

We came together, one circle, one rhythm, and so much laughter. The beats echoed through the circle, and apparently, several doors down, all the way to our neighbours' house 😂 We're lucky to be surrounded by cool souls who embrace the vibe ❤️

Deep thanks to Kev for sharing his experience with the drum, holding space, and leading us - we couldn't do it without him 🙏🏾
