We offer all routine immunizations according to the EPI (Expanded Programme of Immunization) as well as additional extra vaccines such as the 6 in 1( Infanrix Hexa), Hepatitis A, Chicken Pox, meningitis, MMR, Flu vaccine(from 6 months) and Cervical Cancer Vaccine. A Well Baby Clinic with free weighs and advice on breast feeding, bottle feeding, introducing solids, growth and milestones etc is also available. We offer a friendly professional service in a beautiful environment with plenty of on site parking. We also have an onsite chiropractor to assist with baby colic and other ailments. Immunizations are recommended to prevent travel related disease, especially those that are endemic to the destination, or travel to areas of poor sanitation and overcrowding. We have access to updated information via the S.A Travel medicine society & the international medicine society on all disease, risk, outbreaks, political, weather and any other problems portray to health & safe travel. Immunization is not restricted only to travel, but is also important for food handlers, medical personnal, water sport enthusiasts, sanitary workers and persons in hazardous employment such as police men and ladies. We are the only Department of Health registered Yellow Fever registered centre in the Border area. Y F Vaccination is a legal requirement for travel to most of South America and Saharan Africa. Occasionally it is required for travel to Saudi Arabia and other countries. It is always advisable to check if it is a requirement so as to avoid complications with customs officials. Yellow Fever is a mosquito transmitted disease and can be fatal if not vaccinated. Legally the vaccine must be administered 10 days before departure. MALARIA PREVENTION & CHEMOPROPHYLAXIS
A large variety of mosquito/insect repelling products are available at the Clinic. We stock both natural as well as those containing DEET. Repellants should be used in conjunction with anti malarial medication in risk areas. Anti malarial medication will only be dispensed following an in depth consultation with a trained travel medicine practitioner.
