Internationally certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), Judy has experience in psychiatry, midwifery & a unique Sharklatch breastfeeding technique. At Best Start Baby, our aim is to give you the confidence and peace of mind to make the best choices for you and your baby! We also understand that parenting does not come with a manual. As an experienced Lactation Consultant and Midwife, my consulting expertise is based on getting breastfeeding to work quickly and make things STICK! My patented "SHARKLATCH" TECHNIQUE is especially loved by dads in teaching the baby to latch like a pro and 100% works. I offer face-to-face consultations, videocalls and phone calls. Each consultation is followed up with a treatment plan and support.

In the BEGINNING of Breastfeeding there is often a SHY OR “slower” making breast. This is completely normal and we can often see the slower(shy) breast producing more milk by the 6 week mark.

Somtimes it’s confusing 🫤. Every healthcare worker can say something different. In the beginning like the first 6 weeks pls offer the breast freely and often. Try not to 🕰️ clockwatch or use schedules. More sucking means more milk 🥛. When in doubt collaborate with an experienced lactation consultant. Knowledge is power and what we share must make sense and sit well with you as parents. ❤️

It’s amazing how every birth, breastfeeding journey and life experience is unique. Before I was divorced - I thought I understood what single parenting was like but now I can say with honesty and respect I didn’t. Somtimes when life gets hard and disappointments and relationships are tested - it’s the people and experiences within us that shape and influence our lives the most. At Best Start Baby we understand that life in today’s world 🌍 can be grey and hard. With each connection and consultation we strive to look deeper and more intentionally.
