26/06/2025

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a medical treatment used to help people with chronic mental health conditions, like depression, who haven’t responded to other treatments. It involves a controlled, brief electrical current passed through the brain while the person is under anaesthetic.
While ECT may sound intimidating, it's a safe and effective option for many people, often providing significant relief.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength. If you or someone you know is exploring treatment options, reach out to a healthcare professional for guidance.

Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is when the pressure that blood places on blood vessels is higher than normal or necessary. Many people with high blood pressure don’t even know they have it. These could be warning signs.
Hypertension often goes unnoticed until it causes harm.
Symptoms that can indicate hypertension include but are not limited to:
▪ persistent dull headaches
▪ bloodshot eyes
▪ random nosebleeds
A diagnosis should always be made by a healthcare professional by monitoring your blood pressure regularly.
Know your numbers. Get your blood pressure checked and stay in control.

Mental health impacts more than just how we think—it can show up in our bodies too. Here are some physical signs that mental illness might be affecting you:

Fatigue or low energy
Changes in sleep patterns (sleeping too much or too little)
Changes in appetite or weight
Unexplained aches and pains
Frequent headaches or tension
Shortness of breath or rapid heartbeat

If you're experiencing these symptoms, it could be time to talk to someone about your mental health. It’s okay to ask for help, and taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body.
