Love this.
I watched a guy cleaning a gallery window in Capetown recently.
Besides the action being almost more exciting than what was on the walls (personal opinion of course)
I loved watching him work.
He was quietly and beautifully getting a job done.
I found it quite peaceful.
And it's also quite a lovely image.

Thinking about trying out an InkApril art challenge.
Inkoctober works so wonderfully...so lets bring it forward a bit.
If you are keen, please post your daily drawings (ink, pen, pastel pencils, crayons, chalk, charcoal...really any kind of image is great) onto this space, and we can share our ideas.
I am happy for any comments on my daily post (virtual crits are great)

tuesdays last efforts. the top 2 belong to pam...she has such an interesting technique and vision, and always comes up with imagery that provokes thought and conversation.
the bottom drawing is a big pastel we both are working on( (still in progress) about 1.5x1.5 on blackened fabiano. we found another great poem to inspire us! filled with images of wanten women and other lovely morsels
results are cool! we need to gather ourselves in a bit... but the point is the process, and then of course the "just do it!" angle

My days at my real work (tourism and family business) are very long and sometimes quite challenging, yet in most ways rewarding, because I have learned how to love and really embrace what I do.
my challenge has been to find a way to carve out crevices of time that I can entertain my first love .

Tuesdays mornings are for now my time to connect with my very special friend Pam Heaton, and for us to play, talk art and just chew the creative cud.
I happened upon this bunch of lovelies on my way to pam today... they wanted money for my pics! fair play...they are magnificent! however I mentioned I was in the same game as them... knew most of them, and would look at the pics for creative purposes only...and they grew bored, so I took some pics.
pam and I worked on an older painting of hers, but i love how I was subliminally influenced by these images on my way to "work"

really keen this year to get Buccaneers properly into the creative workshop stay and play space.
i have invited all my creative mates to this page to open the floor to discussion. and for feedback from any of you on opportunities any of you may think of, that buccs could embark on.
We have hosted so far, over the past few years a good couple of workshops. On the fine art front, we have had Emily Ball. Diane Victor. a wonderful norwegian painting group, and a good few pottery, drawing and craft workshops along the way.
We have hosted yoga retreats, hosted bands and offered live music opportunities and had some great small conferences make use of our beautiful new tree cottage and gardens.
so. ideas please.
could be residency based. or anyone you know who would like to host a creative workshop, be it writing, cooking, gardening crafting arting or yogering. we think buccs is perfect.

excellent range of stunning rooms.
studio space with option for both printing and painting and pottery space
yoga room
fab food

and really just one of the most outstanding locations in the world.
so pass on please.
our little slice of very very nice.
