Sharing some very unglamorous photos in honour of world breastfeeding week. While I’m immensely proud to be feeding my baby breastmilk, I’m more heartbroken that he isn’t drinking directly off my breast.

This journey has been beyond difficult. From painful latching to breast refusal and back to latching for comfort and snacks.

There’s middle of the night pumping. Paced bottle feeding. Washing and sterilising about fifty billion times per day.

Honestly, I feel frustrated and inadequate that despite every available resource, reasonable ability and a therapists background I still can’t get it right.

But I have to remind myself that as a person and parent, I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got.

So here’s hoping that we get to our goal of EBF sometime soon - but if we don’t, I’m still here for the snacks and the soothing.

Happy world breast feeding week ❤️

👶✨ Recognise any new faces around here? 👀

With Ali’s baby bump growing, so is the practice! We’re thrilled to welcome Tshola and Nina to the team 🥳

These two bring incredible passion and skill, and together we’ll continue to provide the care and commitment you’ve come to expect.

Ali will be going on maternity leave from 31 May 2025, but rest assured — your little ones will be in excellent hands 💙

🤰 As a mum-to-be, I’m pretty flexible on most things and realise that a lot of this is out of my control.

What is in my control is containers.

We won’t be using them.

Swipe to find out some of the items NOT on my registry and why they won’t be making an appearance 👀

this Saturday. And also . This week I took the time to give one of my CP kiddos a back rub (which I haven't done in a little while). She was grumpy and we just weren't getting anywhere in our session - she wouldn't let go and relax.

After a few minutes of massage, she relaxed into the session and let go. She was smiling and giggling. We had a really precious moment where we were working together to make her more comfortable.

And it made me realise that I've maybe forgotten a little bit the power of positive touch.

Our kids (and adults) with CP and other disabilities are handled and touched a million times throughout the day - nappy changes, feeding, bathing, transfers. The list goes on.

But sometimes we neglect to remember that they need positive touch - touch that isn't associated with an activity of daily living - too.

One of my key resolutions this year was to start filming sessions.

🤔Why?
Filming sessions gives me an objective view of how the quality of movement changes depending on what task my client is engaged in at a specific time - which is key to better understanding a child's brain and the skillset that I'm trying to develop. 🧠

It also means that I'm able to evaluate my skills as a therapist.

This means stepping out of my comfort zone, and being prepared to come face to face with what I need to work on as a therapist.

Onwards and upwards 😁
