🤔 What is Parkinson's Disease? Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that primarily affects movement. It occurs when nerve cells (neurons) in a part of the brain called the substantia nigra become damaged or die. This leads to a shortage of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which plays a crucial role in regulating muscle movement.
