💙💛 National Down Syndrome Day is commemorated to raise awareness and share facts about the condition.

✨ What is Down syndrome?
It’s a chromosomal disorder caused by an extra number 21 chromosome (Trisomy 21), leading to delays in physical and intellectual development.

🔹 Facts about Down syndrome:

It affects 1 in 650 babies in developing countries, and 1 in 1 000 in developed countries.
80% of children with Down syndrome are born to mothers under 35.
It is not related to age, race, religion, or socio-economic background.
With proper medical care, individuals can live up to 50–55 years.
Children can attend normal schools and thrive with inclusive education.

💡 Down syndrome cannot be cured, but with love, care, and support, people with Down syndrome can live meaningful, fulfilling lives.
