IOPSA The Institute of Plumbing is represented by three distinct groups, namely, Plumbers, Merchants / Wholesalers and Manufacturers.

Plumbing Africa is the proud official journal of IOPSA. Their concern as a group is to work together as one in ensuring the best practice plumbing methods are used, the products are of a high standard and that plumber members are suitably trained to perform this task using compliant products and engineering. wpd-logoThe Institute exists for the interest of PLUMBING and through this the health and

safety of all the people of South Africa as well as preserving the environment through water conservation and using our resources efficiently and effectively. Whilst each group may have their own need to meet and discuss matters pertaining to their businesses, the Institute provides the platform to promote the practice of plumbing. plumbing-council-logoThe Institute of Plumbing SA was established in 1989 after merging with (PASA) Plumbers Association of South Africa. The annual registration of plumbing contractors, manufacturers and merchants commenced shortly afterwards. IOPSA aim is to ensure that all members are registered on an annual basis. IOPSA is a full member of the World Plumbing Council.

IOPSA's Women's Day Celebration: Empowering Women, Breaking Stigmas 💪

IOPSA was delighted to host a Women's Day Celebration that focused on bringing together the spectacular women of our industry. The day kicked off with laughter and games, breaking the ice and fostering new friendships and stronger bonds.

Inspiring Conversations and Creative Expression

We were honored to have Belinda Govender, a public speaker, share her inspirational story and shed light on many issues and strategies to overcome them. Her sincerity and vulnerability motivated the ladies, creating a safe space for connection and growth. The day concluded with a relaxing Sip and Paint session, allowing everyone to unwind and tap into their creativity. 🎨

IOPSA extends its gratitude to everyone who made this event so memorable.

This special event was proudly hosted by IOPSA KZN at 12 Oceans Hotel and conference centre.

May this day serve as a reminder of the power, potential, and resilience of women everywhere. May we continue to strive for a world where every woman and girl can thrive, lead, and inspire.

🚰 Celebrating World Plumbing Day in Soweto! 🔧

On 11 March, IOPSA Gauteng joined forces with Builders Protea Glen to celebrate World Plumbing Day with an epic event for local plumbers! Over 100 plumbers and industry pros came together for an evening of learning, networking, and valuable industry insights.

The event kicked off with a mini expo, where plumbing suppliers showcased their latest products, giving plumbers the chance to connect, explore, and stay up to date with the best tools for the job.

We also tackled key topics like safety, water conservation, compliance, and using the right tools—because doing it right the first time matters! 👊

A huge thank you to Builders Protea Glen for hosting and to everyone who made this event such a success! Here’s to keeping the plumbing industry strong and thriving! 💪💙
