World Breastfeeding week🤱🧠

Speech Therapists play a role in breastfeeding, mainly to provide oral stimulation to strengthen oral structures for safe and pleasurable breast feeding for baby, Positioning and improving baby’s suck and latch.

Here are some pointers to look out for, indicating your baby might be having a poor latch during breast feeding🧠🤱
- poor lip closure around the ar**la (the black part around the ni**le)
- Clicking sounds when the baby is breast feeding
- Sore and painful ni**les during breast feeding
- Irritability during breast feeding

Language Delay or “late talker”?

Sometimes children start to talk later than others, which makes it difficult to determine if your child is a late talker or his/her ability to learn language is impaired.

Language Delay is a type of communication disorder where the child does not meet the language milestones of their age,

Late talker is a child who is not intellectually impaired and developing other skills on par, but has a limited spoken vocabulary for his/her age.

Here are some red flags 🚩 to look out for, which can indicate that your child has language delay.
