Greetings All
After our successful eye awareness campaign day we recognized patients especially pensioners that really needed surgery for dense cataracts. With the help of Advanced De LA Vie Day Hospital, patients with no vision or only light perception were operated. We love giving back to our community. With the consent/permission from the patients, these are pictures of some of them.
Once again we would like to say thank you to our sponsors and everyone for the support.

After all examinations were done, we have realized that cataracts, glaucoma, pterygiums and diabetic retinopathy were the most leading conditions seen. We therefore encourage everyone to get their eyes checked atleast once a year.

Greetings All
If you have diabetes, you may be at risk of a condition called diabetic retinopathy. It is very important to have regular eye doctor visits when you have diabetes.
Diabetic retinopathy is an eye condition that can cause vision loss and blindness in people who have diabetes.
Early symptoms include floaters, blurriness, dark areas of vision and difficulty perceiving color. Blindness can occur.
Can diabetic retinopathy be treated?
Treatment for diabetic retinopathy depends on the problem and how serious it is. Some of the treatments include: Laser to stop blood vessels from leaking. Injections in the eyes to stop new leaky blood vessels from growing. You can help prevent diabetic retinopathy by keeping your blood sugar under control.

Cataracts are a leading cause of visual loss in adults 45 years and over.
What is a CATARACT?
It is a clouding of the natural lens inside your eye. The lens located behind the iris works just like the lens of a camera. Your vision becomes cloudy and misty because of a cataract on the lens.
Symptoms includes blurred, clouded or dim vision, trouble seeing at night, sensitivity to light.
How do you treat a cataract?
Cataract surgery is the only way to remove cataracts and restore your clear vision. An Ophthalmologist removes your clouded lens and replaces it with an intra ocular lens (IOL)

DID YOU KNOW??👀
More than 2 billion people have a vision impairment or blindness. At least 1 billion of those could have been prevented.
It is very important to have regular eye examinations:
* To prevent damage and sight loss
* Having your vision corrected can improve the quality of day-to-day life
* They will help detect certain eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration which could lead to sight loss.
