A Chiropractor is a health care professional who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders related to the muscle, nervous and skeletal systems. Mechanical disorders are caused from physical traumas such as: accidents, falls, repetitive movements and poor posture. These physical traumas affect the loco motor structures that allow for normal joint function and movement. Once these loco motor structures are affected the joint in question will begin to experience abnormal joint motion, causing mechanical joint pain. If left untreated further stress is placed on the tissues of the spine resulting in permanent change, known as spinal degeneration. This could result in chronic bouts of mechanical joint pain. Chiropractors treat the mechanical joint pain
caused by the various mechanical disorders. This is done by restoring the abnormal joint motion caused by the previously mentioned physical traumas.
