Always visit your healthcare practitioner for any health-related advice or diagnosis. Since 1984 the Lenmed Group has provided private healthcare to the communities of Southern Africa. We are committed to creating places of healing by attracting the best expertise to continuously build and maintain a steadfast and devoted team. Our reputation for care and devotion is deeply rooted in both our hist
orical landscape and our track record of exceptional service for more than three decades. The first Lenmed Clinic in Lenasia opened its doors in 1984 as a 48-bed facility and is now known as the Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital. It offers state-of-the-art facilities with over 80 specialist medical practitioners and stands proudly today as a testament to our excellence in clinical care and our devotion to the communities we heal. In reality, it was the success of the Ahmed Kathrada Private Hospital that resulted in the exponential growth of the Lenmed Group as a whole and led to the subsequent acquisition of numerous hospitals since 2004. We now have 12 hospitals in our group – 4 in Gauteng, 4 in KwaZulu- Natal, 2 in Northern Cape, 1 in Botswana and 1 in Maputo. Our hospitals have a proud record of achievements and awards. Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre is the only facility to offer paediatric cardiac surgery in KwaZulu Natal and was placed on the Discovery Health Top 20 Private Hospitals list for 5 consecutive years. Royal Hospital and Heart Centre is the only hospital in Northern Cape with comprehensive units for both oncology and cardiology and performed the first open-heart surgery in the province. Bokamoso Private Hospital performed the first private open heart surgery in Botswana. And Shifa Private Hospital in KwaZulu
Natal was placed on the Discovery Health Top 20 Private Hospitals list for 2 consecutive years. We have come a long way since our humble beginnings in Lenasia. Throughout our journey to become one of the country’s leading hospital groups we have remained true to our roots by providing care and compassion to our communities as well as being dedicated to exceptional clinical outcomes and customer experience.
