One of the biggest challenges around the world for MND is a lack of research. At the moment, there is no cure or treatment for this disease and also no specific known cause for the illness. MND has to be treated symptomatically and the global absence of funding is the main reason for the lack of knowledge regarding MND. That’s why Bestmed is dedicated to contribute to finding a cure and subsequently saving many precious lives. Although Bestmed’s motto is that prevention is better than cure, it’s important to realise that an illness can’t be prevented if we don’t know what causes it. We’ve been a loyal supporter and financial contributor to Joost van der Westhuizen’s J9 Foundation as we seek to raise awareness of MND and help the search for a cure.
