Little Aqhama was merely 3 months old when his mom brought him to see me for the first time. His petit chest was tight and he worked hard to breath in and out. At 2months old he was hospitalized due to Asthma symptoms, he was admitted for and was put in an oxygen mask for the the first two days.
When they came to see me, his mom had a forlorn face, with little hope about the treatment I was about to commence. "I just had to bring him because I heard from the neighbor that you helped her with her sore back and ulcers". The approach I took to treat Aqhama was a combination of using botanical medicines and manual therapy (Dorn Method) to alleviate the bronchospasm.
As I gently massaged his back and manupilated his thoracic spine, his breathing became better and the light began to shine again on his mother's face.
Since that day I have seen Aqhama about 5 more times esp around the time he is teething. His treatment is still the same and the botanical medicines he receives are mixed to help strengthen his lungs. He recently turned 1year old and seeing him getting stronger and healthier is one of the experiences that encouraged me to enroll with NUMSS and improve my education in the fields of Manual Therapy and Botanical Medicine.
Thank you for your donations, as they will help me improve my skills so children like Aqhama can receive even better healthcare in the near future.
