Aaaaaahh the perfect male face makes the perfect man! 😂

Male facial Aesthetics has some fundamental similarities to female Aesthetics, with certain HUGE differences.

So, basically, it's the same but not at all 😉

There's certainly a stronger awareness amongst men that viable and safe options exist to help enhance, protect or gently adapt their attractiveness.

Cape Epic… 2018 🚴

Despite the physical demands that it puts on your body, you’ve pushed to prepare for this for over 6 months and it can still be a huge challenge & commitment! This is something that I’ve done for many years, but the Cape Epic… That was another story.

You hit hill after hill, and wonder how you’re going to get through this, but there is no turning back.

I think what we sometimes forget to think about is perhaps the emotional effect that pushing both our mind & bodies to their absolute limit can have on you.

These challenges have completely changed my perception of certain situations & how I may tackle them. On a day to day basis in both my professional & personal life, it’s allowed me to engage with my patients & others around me in a different manner.

Final touches done on my online presentation for tomorrow on Rheology of HA fillers.

Rheology is the study of the way substances react to external forces that are applied to them.

When it comes to fillers, practitioners should have an intricate knowledge of the different fillers' rheology, as it determines where and how much of a given filler should be injected.

Wrong filler in the wrong place can cause many issues like:
excessive volume, lumps/bumps and limiting the movement of facial muscles to the extent that patients look "odd" and have more "stiff" and unnatural faces. Not ideal😳

FILLERS ARE NOT ONE SIZE FITS ALL

Aaaaaahhh Fillers 🙌

The name might imply "inflation" of the face, but that's the furthest from the truth.

It is predicted that 2022 will be a massive year for structural correction with fillers, as many people opted out of treatment due to being at home a lot more. Less out and about = less concern for aging.
EXCEPT if you were using online meeting platforms of course, then you were VERY aware of your face😳

Facial aging.

The bone of the skull and the fat pads of the face change as we age. They tend to lose structure in critical areas. This leads to a few things, one of which is sagging.

By replacing these deficits with a "filler", we can create lift, as the overlaying tissue moves back to a similar position as before the loss of structure.

Had the absolute privilege to be part of an online discussion featuring Prof Jean Carruthers, at the summit.

To put it into perspective, Prof Carruthers can be described as the Mother of Toxin treatments. She was critically involved in the initial studies on the Allergan Toxin.

To be part of an event that involves her, is just incredible. I still have my first Toxin textbook on my desk. You know it's old school when there's a CD ROM version on the inside of the cover 😂😂
