Welcome to Wieland's Therapeutic Massage and thank you for taking some time to make yourself familiar with what I have to offer. Firstly, let me tell you a little about myself and how I found my way into massaging people:
I was born in the former East-Germany to a father who had contracted polio as an adolescent and a mother who practiced physiotherapy. In their marriage they combined their skills to help people with drug addictions, my father as a psychiatrist and my mom as a physio. I became familiar with and accepted the concept that body, mind and soul are dynamically linked. As a youngster I was very active in sports, especially in running and at one stage trained to participate at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Though ultimately nothing became of that plan, I developed an appreciation for the human body - its functionality and efficiency as well as its limits. Before I moved to South Africa in the early 1990s, I studied anatomy at medical school at Leipzig University. In 2000, I started having treatments with Felicity Haagman, a healer extraordinaire, who became my mentor and massage teacher. She, from the very first time we met, believed I should be practicing the trade myself. In 2007 I qualified in Advanced Therapeutic Massage and completed seven levels of Hawaiian Kahuna or Transformational Bodywork between 2015-2018. Hawaiian ancient KaHuna massage is based on the belief that life’s experiences and traumatic get stored in the body, and it is necessary to periodically lovingly let go of these stored emotional events. On offer are 1h full body and 90min deluxe full body massages. Pressure varies and is adjusted to your individual body’s needs and can vary from connective (deep) tissue massage to feather light touch. I practice my massages with intuition, awareness, confidence and love, among others, according to the seven Kahuna principles. Lastly, I aim to string together body, mind and spirit to leave you feel more whole and, ultimately, to create capacity for life’s challenges. Prices:
