• INTERMEDIATE CARE FACILITY (ICF)
The ICF has 36 beds (including 8 children’s beds). The main services are in-patient palliative-, sub-acute- & rehabilitation/restorative & respite care, with the focus being on patients with life threatening, life limiting conditions such as HIV/AIDS/TB/Cancer etc. and chronic diseases of lifestyle
• INTEGRATED HEALTH AND WELLNESS (IHW)
The IHW division visits community members in their own homes to do Household Health Screenings & to promote Comprehensive Health, Wellness & Self-Management. The focus also being on patients with life threatening, life limiting conditions such as HIV/AIDS/TB/Cancer etc. and Chronic diseases of lifestyle. Community Health Workers are involved in various Campaigns, Outreaches and Health Education activities, this includes Daycares in all wards. The idea of these activities is to take the burden off Hospitals by identifying conditions at an early stage and referring patients to the Local Health Clinics
• CHILD AND YOUTH CARE CENTRE (CYCC)
The CYCC focuses on care for 24 children legally placed in our
Residential care. Various Rehabilitation and Development programs
are presented, including Emotional, Psycho-Social care, Counselling,
Behavior Modification, Independent Living, ECD, Educational
Assistance and development.
• MILESTONE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (MDP)
The MDP can accommodate 20 children & includes the 3 main-divisions of Bethesda. Services are for children between the ages of 18-months and 6-years, with developmental delays due to various reasons such as illness/disease, neglect, lack of stimulation etc. with
main focus also being on children infected or affected by
HIV/AIDS/TB. The children are divided into 4 groups according to
their Developmental age and appropriate Stimulation- and
Development Activities are presented to them. Throughout Bethesda we believe in a Holistic Care approach, therefore all clients are cared for HOLISTICALLY:
Medical, Rehabilitative, Developmental, Spiritual, Psycho-social and Family support. Our SUPPORT SERVICES include a kitchen (Outsourced), laundry (partially outsourced), maintenance, transport, security & admin. We care and provide our services free of charge to our patients and their families. Our total operational costs are more than R17 million per year. Partial funding is received from the government for specific services, but we cannot survive on it alone. Additional funds/donations/CSI allocations/projects are obtained from the general public, corporate donors and other funding partners. All Donations, Financial assistance, Expertise and Volunteers are welcome and appreciated.
