Today we had the privilege of welcoming our new day scholars, together with their parents, into the Carpe Diem School community.

Just like every zebra has unique stripes, every learner arrives with their own strengths, personality, and potential.
At Carpe Diem, we celebrate these differences and believe that belonging comes first.
It was wonderful to meet our new families and begin this journey together.

And the excitement continues — we look forward to welcoming our new hostel learners when they arrive on Monday, as our Carpe herd continues to grow.

🦓 A zebra’s stripes are as unique as a fingerprint — no two are ever the same.

As we welcome our learners back to Carpe Diem, we celebrate what makes each child uniquely themselves. Different stripes. One herd. One community. 💙

📅 Tomorrow, Wednesday 14 January, we warmly welcome back all our returning learners who were already attending Carpe Diem School, George South Africa in 2025.

⚠️New learners will start on Thursday, 15 January at 08:00, and we look forward to welcoming them together with their parents.

ℹ️ Please note:
• Learners from the new PID unit will start later in February
• New hostel learners begin on Monday, 19 January

🌟 SACE-Accredited ASD Training at Carpe Diem School 🌟
Carpe Diem School Resource Centre, in collaboration with Els for Autism, is proud to host a SACE-accredited Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Training in February 2026.
This hands-on training is ideal for teachers, parents, guardians, assistants and facilitators who want to deepen their understanding and practical skills in supporting learners with ASD.
📅 Date: 6–7 February 2026
⏰ Time: 09:00–15:30
📍 Venue: Carpe Diem School Hall, George
💰 Cost: R350 per person
🎓 CPD: 10 SACE CPTD points
What’s included:
✔ Hands-on training by Els for Autism
✔ Support from Carpe Diem School as a Resource Centre

✨ One last performance for 2025 - our Marimba Band at Garden Route Mall ✨

What a beautiful way to close off the year! Today our Marimba Band delivered their final performance for this year at the Garden Route Mall, and we could not be prouder of each and every learner. Your joy, focus, teamwork and musical talent shone through — what a gift to everyone who stopped to listen.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible support team who made sure our learners looked Christmassy, arrived on time, and were calm, prepared and ready to perform. These moments don’t happen without your dedication behind the scenes.

Special thanks to Hilde Gordon for her commitment, patience and passion in training the band, and to Ms Grobler for her constant support and joyful energy when playing with the band.

Now it’s time to rest, recharge and enjoy a well-deserved break.

Dear Carpe Diem Family,

Today marked the final day of school for our staff, and as we close the book on this year, our hearts are filled with deep gratitude. In 2025 we celebrated the 25th birthday of Carpe Diem School—a milestone that reminded us once again of the incredible journey we share as a community. This year was filled with joy, growth, celebration, and countless moments that reminded us why our school is such a special place.

We look back with thankfulness for every blessing we experienced:
• the achievements of our Carpies,
• the dedication of our staff,
• the unwavering support of our families,
• the generosity of our sponsors and friends,
• and the spirit of unity that carried us through every challenge and celebration.

As we now step into the holiday season, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who supported us—in big ways, in quiet ways, and in ways seen and unseen.

We wish all our learners, all our families, our friends, sponsors, and staff a joyful and peaceful Christmas, filled with rest, love, and precious moments together. May this be a time of renewal and blessing for each of you.
