🍎🍌 Teacher Amanda’s Class in Action! 🍓🍍

This past week, our learners in Teacher Amanda’s class explored the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods.
They learned which foods help our bodies grow strong and stay healthy, and which treats we should only enjoy once in a while.

Today, the classroom turned into a mini kitchen as the learners experimented with different fruit combinations and made their own colourful fruit kebabs! 🍇🍉 They had so much fun choosing, mixing, and creating — and of course, tasting their delicious masterpieces afterwards.

Hands-on learning makes every lesson meaningful and memorable. Well done to our enthusiastic Carpies for embracing healthy choices in such a fun way! 💛

🐼🥋 Junior Athletics 2026 – Kung Fu Panda Style! 🥋🐼

Today, 25 February, our Junior Athletics Day brought out the inner warrior in every Carpie! If Po from Kung Fu Panda had joined us, he would definitely have felt right at home! 🐉💥

From speedy 50m sprints to determined 100m races, exciting obstacle courses, powerful shot put throws, and our fantastic wheelchair races — our learners showed courage, determination and plenty of Kung Fu spirit!

Our true stars of the day? 🌟
Every single learner who stepped onto the field. We are so proud of your bravery and enthusiasm!

A huge thank you to the amazing ETA students who served as our technical officials. They not only kept everything running smoothly, but they dressed the part and brought such wonderful energy while guiding and encouraging our young athletes.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Mr Carolus and his team from the International Centre for Medical Training for providing first aid support during the athletics meeting. Your presence ensured a safe and well-run event — thank you for your professionalism and care.

And just when we thought the excitement was over… some of our parents and teachers lined up for a 50m race of their own!

Let’s just say the competitive spirit was strong and the laughter even stronger! 😄👏

What a fantastic day filled with fun, participation and true Carpie spirit!

🚑👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒 Learning About Community Helpers in Teacher Juliana’s Class! 👨‍🚒👩‍⚕️🚑

Teacher Juliana’s class has been learning about the special people who help us every day — firefighters, doctors, nurses and many more! 🚒🏥

As part of their fun, hands-on learning, the learners made their very own nursing hats. And just look at all our young nurses! 💙✨

We are so proud of their creativity and enthusiasm as they discover how different people in our community care for and protect us.
Well done, Carpies! 🌟

🌱✨ Learning About Soil and Plant Life in Our Classroom! ✨🌱

Teacher Amanda's class has been learning about different types of soil and the life cycle of plants.

They would love to share their results with you so far.

Today was not just another day on our calendar… it was a day filled with connection, understanding, and genuine care. 🌟

We had the privilege of hosting our very first “Walk with a Purpose” sponsor walk-through at Carpe Diem School.

A heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU to Daisy Business Solutions George for not only showing up but for truly stepping into our world. You met our learners, saw their stories in their eyes, experienced their joy, and witnessed firsthand how our dedicated teachers navigate daily challenges with patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment. 💛

When a sponsor takes the time to listen, observe, ask questions, and understand something powerful happens. It’s more than a partnership… it becomes shared purpose.

Thank you for walking alongside us. Thank you for believing in our children. Thank you for helping us create a future filled with possibility for every learner at Carpe Diem.

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Teacher Leana and Teacher Marisa for making the day so incredibly special. Thank you for so beautifully explaining to our sponsors how we do things here at Carpe Diem for sharing not just information, but heart.

Together, we are not just making a difference we are changing lives. ✨

🎶 Carpe Diem School Marimba Band at the ECKED NSC Awards 🎶

A huge thank you to Hilde Gordon, our amazing Marimba Band trainer, who came all the way from Wilderness to guide and support our learners! 💙

A special shout-out to Angeline Bezuidenhout and Jenny, who jazzed up the Marimba Band outfits with beautiful Shweshwe fabric, giving our learners a vibrant and traditional look on stage. ✨👕

Our Carpe Diem School Marimba Band performed with so much energy, rhythm, and confidence at the ECKED NSC Awards. Music truly showcases talent, teamwork, growth, and joy – and our learners shone brightly! 🌟

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you! 🎶

❤️ Valentine’s Day at Carpe Diem School ❤️

Today we celebrated Valentine’s Day with something very special – our very own Valentine’s Day Sokkie 💃🕺

For some of our learners, this was their very first Valentine’s Day celebration. For others, it was such a privilege to witness how they have grown — in confidence, in friendships, and in the courage to step onto the dance floor with a smile.

The hall was filled with laughter, music, excitement… and most of all, love. Not the kind you see in movies — but the real kind. The kind where a learner waits patiently to include someone in a dance. The kind where wheelchairs spin alongside takkies. The kind where differences disappear and everyone belongs.

At Carpe Diem, love looks like inclusion.
Love looks like encouragement.
Love looks like confidence growing right in front of your eyes.

What a beautiful reminder that every learner deserves to feel chosen, celebrated and included.

Happy Valentine’s Day from our Carpie family ❤️
