Jaco Potgieter Orthopaedics Inc. was established in 2025 by Jaco Potgieter, who qualified in 2002 with a National Certificate in Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics. After completing his studies in Gauteng, Jaco began practicing as an orthotist in Port Elizabeth. In 2009, he partnered with three fellow orthotists and prosthetists to establish Moolman’s, Nel & Potgieter Orthopaedics Inc., his first practice in PE. During this time, he distinguished himself both as a dedicated medical professional and as a successful practice owner. In 2017, Jaco chose to continue his career in the Western Cape, enabling him to be closer to his family.
With the support of specialists, doctors, family, and friends, Jaco has now taken the step to open his own practice in George. Backed by over 20 years of experience in the industry, he is committed to providing patients with the highest quality products and a unique standard of compassionate care.
One of Jaco’s main areas of focus is custom-moulded back braces. He has become a leader in the field by manufacturing some of the highest-quality custom-made braces. Each brace is carefully designed by first casting the patient and then using a variety of specialised materials to create a brace that provides optimal support. These braces play an important role in recovery after back surgery—whether following a fusion or a decompression procedure—helping patients heal with comfort and confidence.
