A small celebration here 🥳

This year I wanted a sub 20 1km swim. I also wanted to podium in my age group. I’ll celebrate the latter 🥳

I didn’t do as much training as I should have, honestly I got lazy and was enjoying padel too much. But I felt strong in the water and practicing sightings in the pool definitely paid off.

Maybe next year a sub 20 🤔

Case highlight 🤩

Operations have their place, but aren’t always needed. Each case is different and we need to look at the degree of injury and the patient’s symptoms amongst other factors.

This patient chose conservative management. And it worked.

The body does heal and you can move and even run again. We don’t always get the privilege of these before and after pics. So I’m glad you guys can see what the body is capable of when it’s supported with appropriate load.

Do these tonight, tomorrow and even on Saturday. 8 reps of each, 2 sets. Nice and easy 😏

Remember, this video has been sped up. All movements should be performed slowly and controlled. Take your stretches to a point of mild discomfort, NOT PAIN!

I love this trend 🥰 because it’s so true!

Yesterday I had this exact discussion with a patient. Mid split squat (ironic), he says “I’m so much happier now that I can run again”. We only really understand the mental impact of an injury, when we’ve had an injury that stops us from doing what we enjoy.

People often ask ‘what’s the best part of your job’ and this is it. It’s getting people functional again so they can be happier. There’s too much kak going on in the world for us to be denied the simple pleasure of running 🏃‍♀️
