Yesterday, women around the country lay down in protest. South Africa experiences some of the world's highest levels of gender-based violence (GBV), with the rate at which women are killed five times higher than the global average, according to UN Women. It is said currently 15 women are murdered daily; a national disaster.
As healthcare providers, we stand with survivors and advocate for a safer, healthier society for all. If you know of someone being abused, reach out. It may save their life.
