We may have a soft spot for microneedling at Bay Aesthetics. 😌

Not because it’s trendy. Not because everyone on social media is suddenly in their “collagen era”.

Because when done properly — with the right depth, technique, timing and targeted infusions — microneedling becomes far more than tiny needles. It becomes a way to work with your skin to rebuild, strengthen and restore.

That’s why our treatments are never one-size-fits-all.

Pigmentation? → We focus on brightening and calming pathways involved in uneven tone.

Early ageing and dullness? → Ingredients chosen to support renewal and healthier cell turnover.

Thinning, fragile skin? → Collagen-supporting peptides to strengthen resilience over time.

Every infusion is selected with a purpose. Because healthy skin isn’t built by throwing ingredients at a problem. It’s built through understanding why the skin changed in the first place.

✨ Refine texture
✨ Strengthen collagen support
✨ Tighten and improve resilience

Clinical. Personalised. Results-driven.
(And yes… we’re slightly obsessed with watching tired skin start looking rested again.)

I read an article over the weekend about brightening dull skin. Nothing revolutionary. In fact, most of the advice falls into the category of: things we all know but conveniently forget while drinking coffee for breakfast and surviving on four hours sleep.

Still, sometimes skin doesn’t need a dramatic overhaul.

Curious about what you can do?

The microneedling timeline nobody really explains properly.

Because collagen rebuilding is a process — not a “walk out glowing forever” situation 😭

Here’s what actually happens after treatment:

• redness and inflammation
• barrier repair
• fibroblast activation
• collagen signalling
• gradual structural rebuilding over time

And this is exactly why one treatment was never the full story.

The first few days are mostly surface healing.

The deeper collagen changes happen slowly over weeks and months as fibroblast activity increases and the skin begins rebuilding itself from within.

Which is also why timing matters.

Too frequently and aggressively?
The skin struggles to recover properly.

Too inconsistent?
Collagen stimulation loses momentum.

Good microneedling isn’t random.

It’s structured skin rejuvenation based on:
• healing
• repair cycles
• collagen response
• and consistency over time

Because healthy skin is built progressively — not aggressively.

Save this for your next treatment 🌻

Is your skin actually ready for microneedling?

Because despite what social media suggests, not every skin should be microneedled immediately.

Microneedling works by creating controlled stimulation within the skin.

Which means the skin needs to be:
• healthy enough to repair
• calm enough to respond properly
• supported enough to rebuild collagen effectively

And sometimes the first step isn’t stimulation.

It’s preparation.

For example:
• impaired barrier function
• active inflammation
• uncontrolled breakouts
• sensitised skin
• dehydration
• certain medications or health conditions,

can all affect how the skin responds. Which is why proper assessment matters.

Because good microneedling isn’t just about needles.

It’s about timing, skin function, and knowing what your skin actually needs first.

So before booking blindly because TikTok said collagen… 😭 we created a short skin readiness questionnaire to help determine whether your skin is ready for microneedling — or whether it may need preparation first.

Because the best results come from treating the skin strategically, not aggressively.

07/05/2026

As if hot flushes, mood swings, random sleep sabotage and suddenly questioning every life decision at 2am weren’t enough… now the skin joins the chaos too.

Very unnecessary behaviour from the human body, honestly.

But there’s actually a reason skin changes so noticeably during perimenopause and menopause.

Oestrogen plays a major role in:
• collagen production
• skin thickness
• hydration
• elasticity
• wound healing and repair

So when hormone levels begin fluctuating or declining, the skin often becomes:

- thinner
- drier
- more sensitive
- less firm
- slower to recover
- more reactive than usual

And for extra drama, some women also start breaking out again.

At the same age they’re trying to worry about collagen loss.

Love that for us.

This is why hormonal skin ageing feels different.

It’s not just about lines.

It’s about structural changes happening within the skin itself.

Declining oestrogen slows fibroblast activity — the cells responsible for producing collagen and maintaining skin support.

Which is exactly why collagen stimulation treatments become more important during this phase.

Not to make skin look “younger.”

But to help it stay stronger, healthier, and more resilient through the changes it’s going through now.

Microneedling has become one of the most talked-about treatments in aesthetics. And honestly… That’s part of the problem.

Because somewhere along the way, it got marketed like a quick glow-up treatment.
A little collagen boost.
A once-off refresh.
Maybe a maintenance facial with needles.

But that’s not actually how collagen works.

🚨 Here’s the part most people don’t realise:
Microneedling doesn’t give you collagen.
It stimulates your skin to produce it.
And collagen production is a slow biological process — not an overnight event.

Which means: one treatment can start the conversation… But it usually won’t create major structural change on its own.
The real results happen with repetition.

Fibroblasts (the cells responsible for collagen production) respond best to:
• repeated stimulation
• correct timing
• consistency over time

This is why structured treatment plans outperform random once-off sessions every time.
Because skin strengthening is cumulative.

🔥And here’s another truth most people don’t talk about: Not all microneedling is good microneedling.
Depth matters.
Technique matters.
Timing matters.
And more is not always better.

Aggressive treatments done too often can create inflammation without meaningful rebuilding.
Real collagen stimulation is strategic — not just “making the skin red.”

Good microneedling should do more than create a glow. It should gradually improve:
• skin strength
• resilience
• density
• recovery
• overall skin behaviour

That’s the difference between temporary results and true skin rejuvenation.

🏋🏻‍♀️Healthy skin is built the same way fitness is. Not from one workout. From consistent, intelligent training over time. YOUR SKIN WORKS EXACTLY THE SAME WAY.

If you’ve had microneedling before and felt underwhelmed, there’s usually a reason.

Your skin isn’t just ageing. It’s slowing down and there’s usually a moment when you notice it. It's not dramatic. It's not overnight. But something feels different.

Your skin:
▪️doesn’t bounce back the same
▪️looks a little softer, a little less supported
▪️doesn’t respond like it used to

And the first instinct is “I need better skincare.”

But often… that’s not the real issue.
Because the real change is happening deeper.

The cells responsible for producing collagen — fibroblasts — don’t stop working.
They just become slower, less responsive and less efficient. Which means your skin isn’t producing collagen the way it used to.

So it’s not that your skincare stopped working.
It’s that your skin stopped responding the same way. And this is exactly where the approach needs to shift.

Not more products but rather more stimulation. Because when you reactivate those cells, your skin starts behaving differently again.

Stronger. More resilient. More like itself.

Some products hydrate.
Some products smooth.
And then there are the ones that quietly get to work while you sleep… and you wake up looking like you actually rested.

Meet Filorga Sleep & Lift

This is your overnight reset for skin that’s starting to feel a little less firm, a little less “held together” than it used to.

Here’s why it works (without overpromising miracles):
• A collagen + hyaluronic acid complex helps support structure and volume — so skin looks fuller, softer, and more lifted
• Skin-repair amino acids work overnight to rebuild what daily stress slowly breaks down
• The result? Features look smoother, more defined, and just… fresher by morning

And the texture?
Rich, cocooning, and exactly what your skin wants at the end of a long day.
Suitable for most skin types — especially if your skin is starting to show signs of fatigue, slackening, or those “I didn’t sleep enough” lines (even when you did).
