Foreword: You may have seen my previous post looking for investors to establish a small off grid community. Not many people are interested in community ownership. So, with a heavy heart I need to sell this property. I am selling at a very fair price, hoping that the right people will see the value and carry on with what has been started.
I am not wired to ask for help, having said that, with an open heart here goes. Please help me by sharing this post to those in your tribe who long to be custodians of the land.
The property is part of Klipkop Estate, overlooking the town of Grabouw and the water rich Elgin Valley. The property extends over 6200 square meters. There are two ponds, stone water reservoir, rain water tanks, 4500 l/hour borehole, and irrigation pipes. Vegetable gardens, Green house, shaded nurseries, fruit, nut and olive trees. Chicken coup, compost bins, and vermicompost worm farm.
The house is a sandbag build. Three bedrooms, Open plan lounge, kitchen, dining room, one bathroom, office and workshop. Garage for three vehicles. All on plan and approved by the municipality and its building inspectors.
A beautiful converted studio container which is not on plan is available for R100K. Kitchen, bathroom and sleeping space.
Half of the property has been developed. The other half left to nature. The sand bag house was intended to be a training centre. There is an amazing space with views of the surrounding mountains, where the main residence could be built. One could live in the current house whilst building then rent it out. Rentals in this area are like hens teeth.
