I completed my schooling in a girls school in Stellenbosch and went on to study Medicine at Tygerberg Medical Campus through the University of Stellenbosch.
I graduated in 2010 and went on to do two years internship in Bloemfontein. My community service year (2013) was spent in the Emergency Unit in New Somerset Hospital in Cape Town. In 2014, I completed an additional diploma in Emergency Medicine (Dipec) through the colleges of South Africa while working in various private emergency units in Cape Town. I also completed Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses. In 2015, I accepted the position as Head of the Emergency Unit at Cape Town Mediclinic and thoroughly enjoyed ensuring clinical excellence, managing nursing staff and doctor colleagues.
In October 2017, I left emergency unit work behind and moved into my consultation room in Mouille Point joining a dynamic team of doctors.
My experience in emergency medicine has helped me tremendously in my decision- making processes in practicing high quality medicine and remembering the expectations of my patients and their families.
