Hello I’m Kate and I qualified from the European Body Stress Release (BSR) Academy in March 2025.
I practice in my home town of Rye, from my ‘Cabin’ in the garden overlooked by the rescue chickens
I have been having BSR for over 20 years from my brother who qualified in South Africa in 2002. Over that time many of my friends and family members have received relief from various symptoms with regular BSR sessions. Not only that my sister-in-law and a friend have also qualified and are practising BSR due to their own relief and belief in the practice!

We have noticed in practice that women tend to be a bit more open about emotional well-being than men. They will open up much more easily about their mental state, lack of sleep or hormonal issues, so it is much easier to identify related areas of stress, such as shoulders or neck or certain areas of the back, whilst men tend to explain their physical pain only, and it takes much longer to get to the deeper issues. The physiological differences in women are also very interesting and how they affect their health.

Our : *Marina was referred to BSR by a friend, but it took all her courage to actually make an appointment. She phoned three times, and on the third call she decided that she liked the practitioner's voice, and she would take the risk of going. It was a frightening challenge for her as she had developed a terror of leaving her home and could not even contemplate driving a car. At 64, a retired dance teacher, she had withdrawn into a lonely sanctuary of depression and extreme anxiety, and turned her back on the world. She also had vertigo and ringing in the ears. Her husband scoffed at the idea that BSR could help her, and said it would only waste money. The practitioner released tension in her neck and lower back, and over her solar plexus. After the first session the vertigo was only slight and she felt generally better. After the second, her husband offered to pay for her to go to BSR daily, if necessary, as the changes in her were so remarkable. A week later, after the third session, it was as though an oppressive, constricting force was removed from her body and mind. Not only was she no longer afraid to go out, she started driving again. She joined a dance group and said she was beginning to enjoy life once more. Some months later she had a few more BSR sessions, for relief of upper- and lower-back pain.
