TESTIMONIAL:
Almost 3 years ago I had spinal surgery and was advised by my chiropractor to start Pilates in order to strengthen my core, otherwise within 5 years I would require further surgery. I was referred to Fiona at Bounce Back and that was the best thing that happened to me. I also had more energy and my back improved to the extent that I did not wake up with stiffness. I started taking note of mu posture in whatever I was doing. Fiona takes her time in showing a person the right way to do things. All I can say, is that there was no looking back for me. - Lucinda Martins
ABOUT BOUNCEBACK:
BounceBack is a privately run pilates studio which has been in operation for over 10 years. The studio focuses strictly on individual, one-on-one training. The emphasis is on a personalised approach as every back and postural issue is as individual as the person presenting with it. I have qualified as a Personal Trainer, a Specialist Fitness Instructor and a Pilates Instructor. My passion is undoubtedly Pilates and postural work. Many courses completed over 10 years has yielded a deep love, knowledge, and respect for the human body and its intricacies. Every aspect is interwoven and every issue should be taken into account when faced with a person in chronic or acute pain. Over the years I have found that an integrated approach works for most clients. Hence, many sessions will be combined with massage, flexibility work, trigger point therapy, muscle activation technique, and stability training. However, the focus is always on improving back pain associated with muscle imbalances caused by a lack of flexibility, poor posture, and weak lumbar/pelvic musculature. There is no such thing as a “one size fits all” protocol for strengthening the back and building endurance. My philosophy is: Mobility first then stability; Stability first then strength. Consistently adhering to this policy has resulted in many satisfied, pain free clients. Clients come in as referrals from chiropractors and physiotherapists. A strict philosophy of BounceBack is to first strengthen and stabilise the lumbar/pelvic complex before addressing “core strength”, as without a stable pelvis and strong lower back, the rest of the body will not function as efficiently as it should. While all “bodies” are dealt with, special attention is also paid to pregnant women, older adults, sportsmen and in particular golfers. Apart from specialising in the above issues, other areas also covered are:

Weight loss and toning,
Golfers - biomechanics of the golf swing, injuries related to poor golf biomechanics, and golf clinics
Off-season soccer training
Hawaiian / sport massage
Wellness days at corporates

The studio is fully equipped with a Pilates Reformer, Wunda Chair, cardio equipment, TRX’s, and stability balls as well as a peaceful massage room. I do not have a website at this time but any further queries can be mailed to me at fi.pilates@gmail.com
