Lately I’ve been seeing more shoulder replacements and complex shoulder conditions in practice.
What many people don’t realise is how quickly shoulder pain starts affecting everyday life:
• Reaching into high cupboards
• Pouring a kettle
• Lifting groceries
• Getting dressed
The shoulder is designed for mobility — but without adequate strength and control, that mobility becomes vulnerability.
After surgery, restoring range of motion, muscular strength, and joint control is essential for recovery.
But even more importantly — progressive, structured exercise can often delay or prevent the need for surgery in the first place.
The goal isn’t just to reduce pain.
It’s to rebuild capacity.
