I became a gynecologist for many reasons, I am always amazed by the cycle of life It’s what drives

I was born in Johannesburg on the 17th of January, the daughter of Marie Grove and Len Lindeque. At the age of ten my family relocated to Natal where I finished school in Durban at Danville Park Girls’ High School. I was privileged enough to have the opportunity to study medicine at Stellenbosch University and completed my course in 2004. I served my internship at McCord Hospital in Durban and spe

nt a gruelling year serving my community service at Mseleni Hospital in Northern Natal. Thereafter I travelled to the Northern Island of New Zealand and worked as a medical officer in Northland District Hospital, Whangarei. Not a month after my arrival abroad I realised I wanted to specialise in the discipline that had always come naturally to me, and that at my Alma Mater. So, the following year, in 2008 I returned to the Cape and spent the next four years working and learning in Tygerberg Academic Hospital and qualified a specialist at the end of 2011. During this time I spent 3 months on a exchange program in Amsterdam where I worked in their first world setting at Onze Liewe Vroue Gastehuis. The next two years were spent securing my knowledge and expertise in the academic environment where I enjoyed lecturing both under- and post-graduate students and working with some of the country’s most renowned professors in the field. I am an artist at heart and enjoy all art forms with a great appreciation and some participation, particularly oil painting and craft. Since the birth of my beautiful son, Nico, I am even more family-centred and treasure the times together with him and my mother who also lives in Secunda. I love my work and am constantly amazed at the complexities of this life and the endless beauty within the wonders of nature. I am thankful to be equipped to help my fellow woman and strive each day to give my best and achieve excellence.
