Vermont opened its doors in 1995 and is run by an association and a group of committed volunteer board members. A General Manager manages the day-to-day running of the facility and a large number of carers and professional nursing staff see to the needs of all the residents.

Patients get three balanced meals a day, coffee and tea and snacks in between. Vermont supplies toiletries like soap, shampoo deodorant etc., but is always in need of donations of toilet paper, tea, coffee, biscuits and many other basic items.

Nappies for the frail are also supplied as well as medication. A doctor visits the patients on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
