Ticks, fleas and mites don’t take a winter break- and neither should your pet’s protection. 🐾

With us going into winter, you may be tempted to fall for a common myth that pets don’t need tick, flea and mite control in colder months...this is NOT true, especially in Cape Town's climate. 🌧

There are safe and effective products available for all pets to keep them covered year round. 🐕 🐈

(⚠️ If your pet has epilepsy, chat to us first so we can choose the most suitable product for them).

P.S Pets featured in this video are cute furry family members of some of our vet staff. 💛

A microchip is the size of a grain of rice — but it could bring your pet home 🏠

Quick, safe, and permanent. Ask us about microchipping at your next visit.

When a lost pet is brought into a vet clinic, one of the first things we do is scan for a microchip 🐾

A microchip is a tiny electronic chip (about the size of a grain of rice) that is inserted just under your pet’s skin, usually between the shoulder blades. It carries a unique number that links to your contact details on a database. 🖥

But here’s the important part: a microchip only works if your details are up to date. If you’ve changed your contact details or address, make sure it's updated. ☎️

Not sure if your pet’s chip is working or registered correctly? We can check it for you (most of the microchip companies also have mobile apps where your details can be checked and updated). 📱

If your pet isn’t microchipped yet, we can insert one during a quick consultation - it only takes about 5 minutes. 🩺

Dental disease doesn’t just affect your dog’s mouth - it can impact their overall health too. 🦷

The best prevention? Regular brushing. 🪥
☑️ Use pet-safe toothpaste
☑️ Start slow
☑️ Keep it positive
☑️ Reward afterwards

Ideally, aim for daily teeth brushing, but even a few times a week can make a huge difference!
