Tarot is an intuitive tool to assist us with connecting in to spirit and our higher selves. It works in symbolism and has been used for centuries to provide guidance and messages interpreted by the reader.

I have been reading tarot for years - for myself and friends - and I would like to start opening this gift up. I am doing this professionally for the first time so I’m keeping the price low as I figure out the best formats to do this in. My healing practices have mostly been conventional and I have kept a lot of my gifts hidden. I’d like to start bringing them out into the world and tarot is my all time favourite spiritual tool.

Affirmations are things we say to ourselves to encourage and affirm a way of thinking that we would like to train our brains to adopt. They are extremely powerful in meditation or in states where we are breathing mindfully and doing something to bring our beings into the present.

Repeat affirmations while breathing slowly and deeply to help you focus and ground your energy. Feed your brain these phrases when you are feeling anxious, overthinking, feeling negative, wanting to manifest or as a part of your daily practice. Add in your own too - you are in the drivers seat with this and you are powerful and in control. Never forget that.

To all the sensitive empaths and spiritual beings out there - these affirmations are for you. The world can feel very harsh sometimes and it can be hard not to absorb it all and stay in high vibrations. Affirmations are a helpful tool to add to your resource kit.

Dogs are incredible healers to us - very few will deny that. My rescue pup Nao is no exception and has been pure light in my life. His character is inspiring to me every single day and I’m learning about LOVE through him. Unconditional love. Love that is trustworthy and safe. He is teaching me how to open my heart again and he is showing me better ways to live my life. He also makes me feel intense gratitude, every single day.

I’m adding a new post structure to the mix which will be little snippets of wisdom I am learning from my beautiful puppy. Here is the first one! He reminds me to have fun and not to take life so seriously 🙏🤍🥳

When our bodies start feeling run down it is usually a sign that we need to tune in and take care of ourselves a bit more. Especially if we are not able to distance from what is stressing us out. It can be extremely helpful to work WITH your body and give it some extra nutrients and fuel. I personally like to make a giant curry full of veg and super spices such as tumeric and cayenne pepper when I start to feel this way. Increasing your magnesium intake is also very helpful, especially for sleep (take in the evening if you are supplementing).

Our body’s work in a system with your mind and emotion’s and helping your body will in turn help your mind and emotional system to feel more grounded. Stress can make us forget to take care of our body’s so this may take some active awareness and effort. The intention of helping yourself is also extremely empowering and just as beneficial I believe.

Shadow work is becoming more understood in mental health and is an apt phrase. It is about making those unconscious parts of yourself conscious with the intention of understanding and healing the wounds that have been buried deep inside you.

Often our shadow side feels a bit out of our control as we experience triggers and issues in our lives. We get into loops and patterns and the drive for change will often push us to find the courage to walk into the shadow and get to the root causes of things. There is no easy way to go about this I’m afraid - no pills you can take or person who can do this for you. You can get support and you can use tools and aids to assist you but you will need to enter the gauntlet so to speak and face your own demons. It can be very scary at first and understanding the healing process can be extremely helpful. Learning how to work with your emotions and what they are trying to help you with is also helpful.

The rewards are enormous if you take this route but it is not a quick fix - it needs to become a lifestyle change in a way.

Our minds can take us on a pressure filled rollercoaster ride when we feel anxious and stressed out. Meditation can be very tricky because the anxiety wants you to ‘go go go’ and slowing down to ground yourself can be challenging.

Little tip that I like to do with my clients: close your eyes and focus on sound and what you can hear. Up the anti and add some frequency music to get you going and assist you (I love Powerthoughts Meditation Club - found on all platforms). Start close to you and expand out, listen for faint sounds in the distance and the layers of sounds all around you. Take deep breathes as you do this, allow your mind to focus on your senses and disengage from your thinking. As your heartbeat slows down your mind will start to follow. You can shift your entire perspective when you give your being the message that YOU ARE SAFE.

RESILIENCE is something we don’t talk about enough in parenting I believe and so many parents struggle to let their kids face discomfort and hardship.

Children NEED to learn through trial and error - it is a vital part of development - just like the seed pushing through the hard earth before it surfaces. This process of making mistakes and fumbling, falling and facing disappointment etc is what builds the resilience and mental/emotional toughness to cope with life and its struggles later on. Learning how to get back up when you get knocked down in other words.

I’m going to share a scary thing I’ve learnt in my work with at risk families - children who have been neglected do better than children who have been bubble wrapped when faced with challenges and life (or even other trauma). HELICOPTER PARENTING (where you do too much for your kids and don’t let them face adversity etc) is one of the most destructive forms of parenting for both the child and the parent that I’ve seen. The child is usually crippled by anxiety out in the world and often seeks out controlling and abusive relationships unconsciously to replace the parental codependency later on or when forced to separate from the home/parents. It is a very difficult and long road to shift this dynamic and build resilience and independence in the adult child. ‘Like marshmallows to a flame’ is the phrase I often use with helicopter parenting.

MENTAL HEALTH is something we are talking about a lot more in recent times (thank goodness). MENTAL ILLNESS has been given a really negative stigma over the decades, particularly before the anti psychiatry movement, and it is slow to see change in how we view things.

The truth is though, mental illness happens to us all, just as physical illness does. Take stress and anxiety as an example, most can relate to this. We all have emotional struggles at times too. We grieve, we get hurt, we mess up, we fall from grace etc. This is life.

It is so important to create a space for our struggles and emotions. To allow ourselves to be human and to be able to find connection with others in this authenticity. We all have our baggage. We all find it heavy sometimes. Let’s start to shift these negative stigmas a little quicker.
