Blarney & Son Dance Party

How fortunate our Amberglen residents were to be able to dance the night away to the lively tunes, Irish and others of this talented Duo. The dance floor was never empty for over three hours which is testament to the suitability of the music for the attendees. The ages ranged from a two year old to over ninety and many in between. There were also numerous singalong and action numbers which appealed to all. The tables were decorated with shamrocks and food, and drinks were in abundance which added to a most convivial atmosphere.

Musical Entertainment

Amberglen residents were once again treated to a soothing Sunday afternoon of musical
entertainment. The talented local performer Judith Hawthorn took us on a musical journey
through the story of her life and career with her newly created show The Adventures of this
Girl. Judith displayed her skill as a pianist, singer and actress with familiar songs and some
new tunes. Her musical journey included classics from Broadway, pop tunes, and skillful
piano playing with a touch of Queen, Rachmaninoff and Beethoven. She had several quick
costume changes and the audience remained enraptured throughout the performance. It
was appropriate that our very own music lover Ros Pearson gave a heartfelt thanks to Judith
as their paths had crossed previously in the performance world.
