April Fool’s Day saw many residents making a ‘fool’ of themselves on the stage. A spontaneous variety show featuring amusing skits and song and dance routines ensued. We were fortunate to be able to host a group of residents from Sunfield Home who competently performed three musical items for us. The lounge was packed to capacity with supporters who showed appreciation through their clapping and sing-alongs.

It’s a wonderful way to keep minds active, share plenty of laughter and spark a little friendly competition.
Well done to everyone who took part and to the family and friends that joined in! ✨

The long Easter weekend brought plenty of spoils from our caterers! 🐣🌸
Our residents were treated to delicious sweet treats and beautifully prepared dishes that made the weekend extra special.
From start to finish, it was filled with flavour, warmth, and happy moments shared together.
A big thank you to our catering team for going the extra mile to make this Easter so memorable for our residents! 🐰✝️

Sr Bev Gibson and Social worker Sphelele recently presented an informative Tuberculosis (TB) awareness talk to all staff at Amberglen Care Centre.
The session highlighted the importance of early detection, understanding symptoms, and following proper infection control measures to help prevent the spread of TB.

Their engaging and educational talk helped equip staff with valuable knowledge to protect both themselves, families, friends and colleagues reinforcing the importance of awareness and vigilance in the environment they live and work in.

🍀 St Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Amberglen Care Centre 🍀
What a wonderful day filled with music, laughter, and a touch of Irish magic! Our residents had delightful St Patrick’s Day, made extra special by the talented Vernon Allwood 🎶 who kept toes tapping and spirits high with his beautiful music and Irish tunes.
Our kitchen, run by Capitol Caterers, treated everyone to a delicious Irish-themed lunch, dinner, and desserts — a real feast that was enjoyed by all! 🍽️
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day memorable.

Chris Coetzee Concert

Musical entertainment is alive and well at Amberglen. We were fortunate to be able to host one of South Africa’s well-known tenors in the person of Chris Coetzee. This talented singer presents a show full of popular tunes, some serious music, foreign language items and many anecdotes and inspirational messages. He kept the audience enthralled and included some interactive numbers that got the residents onto their feet or waving their hands. A special feature this time was the inclusion of some of the Carers and kitchen staff who showed their moves and sang along lustily.

On the 19th of February our Care Centre was filled with wagging tails and happy hearts as Angel Paws visited our residents. 🐶
Animal therapy brings comfort, sparks memories and creates the sweetest connections.
Thank you, Angel Paws, for the love you share so generously. 🐾✨
