Amberfield is a Retirement Village, providing homely accommodation for the elderly in 400 Cottage Units and a 40 Bedded Frail Care Centre, all of which overlooks the town of Howick in the Natal Midlands. Independent living is encouraged however assisted living is also available with Contracted Carers coming to the units. The Cottage Professional Nurse visits residents during the week to provide selected nursing care. The beautiful gardens and trees are well-known in the area, which gives a sense of living in a large park. The Care Centre facility caters for those persons who find it difficult to cope alone with the normal activities of daily living. It offers peace of mind to residents, their families and friends alike – where “quailty of life is a way of life”. To ensure that life is still enjoyed, a wide range of Diversional Therapy activities are provided to help each resident lead a meaningful life. The Centre is staffed by qualified people who care about the residents' well-being while being mindful of their right to dignity and their freedom of choice. A contractor has been carefully selected by the Trustees to provide the Carers who carry out the basic nursing care. The staff cooperate with Hospice in providing empathetic terminal care. 3. Weekly Inter-denomination Church services
